Dubai Hotels and Resorts - Dubai is the quintessential home of sand, sun and shopping. A century ago, it was a tranquil town whose coral-and-gypsum huts housed Bedouin traders and pearl divers. Today the merchants have gone international and science-fiction skyscrapers stand alongside the mosques and wind towers of Old Dubai.

The audacity of the city's rulers is breathtaking. Running out of coastline to build hotels? Build vast artificial islands with 120km (74.5mi) of new beachfront. Need better connections with the world? Build up an award-winning international airline in 15 years.

Need some publicity? Stage the world's richest horse race, million-dollar lotteries, international tennis and golf tournaments, and a month-long shopping festival. Need a few landmarks for people to recognise? Up goes the world's tallest and most lavish hotel, perched on an artificial platform, and a city skyline to boggle the eye.

Balinese Facial
This facial is for all skin types. The face is cleansed and toned with dried products from the natural plants of the region. Peeling is applied to remove dead skin cells and cleansed with warm water. The face is then massaged with rich and nourishing oil before a mask is applied containing herbs and spices from southeast Asia. The facial is completed with an application of moisturizing face and eye cream.
Balinese Massage
A combination of acupressure, muscle manipulation and warm sweeping strokes. The therapist massages the full body, head and shoulders. This is a traditional treatment using oil, enriched with the fragrant spices of Bali and leaves the guest felling lighter and refreshed.
Javanese Lulur Full Body Treatment
The treatment begins with a traditional Balinese massage. This is followed by a herbal body scrub which removes the dull surface skin, leaving the skin soft, supple and fresh. The therapist then showers the guest and applies yoghurt which moisturises and nourishes the skin. Following this, the guest relaxes in an aromatic bath. Flower body lotion is applied after the bath and herbal tea is served.
