Estonia Hotels and Resorts - Ever wanted to eat blood sausages washed down with a syrupy liquor of unknown origin, go bog walking and sleep with 80 untouchable nuns and novices? You can do it all in Estonia, the small territory which packs in some charming quirks without ruining your budget. The early years of independence brought hardship, but Estonia is recovering. Despite the rapid changes since it regained its independence in 1991, there's still a lot of tradition, including a language packed with deep 'oo's and 'uu's and thriving folk shindigs.

De Tolly Hotel is the first hotel in Torva that has been opened during the newly independent Estonian Republic period in July, 13 1998. The author of the preliminary project of the hotel was Uku Koop, an architect from Valga. Designer Jaanis Ilves has projected the interior of the hotel. De Tolly is the shortened version of the famous Russian general Barclay de Tolly's name. We have chosen his name because of the fact that Barclay de Tolly is the most famous person connected with this countryside, an internationally known historic figure of Scottish origin, whose remains rest nearby, 8 kilometres from T?rva, in the family burial chapel in J?geveste. The hotel has two tennis courts, minigolf, open-air grill, possibilities to take a canoe trip or bicycle journey, etc. The best way to relax during the summertime is to have a picnic in the park of the magnificent Holdre Castle, or entertain oneself with a boating trip including picnic and sauna near Lake Valgj?rve. Two lakes are situated near the hotel; one of them (Lake Vanam?isa) includes also a diving tower for the courageous ones.
