St. Vincent & Grenadines Hotels and Resorts - St Vincent & the Grenadines form a multi-island nation well known to wintering yachties, aristocrats and rock stars, but off the beaten path for most other visitors. Despite its pockets of lotus-eating luxury, for the most part it's a refreshingly rugged and raw-edged backwater. The 30 islands and cays that comprise the Grenadines are among the most popular cruising grounds in the Caribbean.

They reach like stepping stones between St Vincent and Grenada and are surrounded by coral reefs and clear blue waters ideal for diving, snorkelling and boating.Fewer than a dozen are inhabited, and even these are lightly populated and barely developed. Although some of the Grenadines, like Mustique and Palm Island, cater to the rich and famous, others, like Bequia and Union Island, attract an international crew of sea salts and beachcombers and offer decent places to stay and eat.

Petit St.Vincent (better known locally as PSV) which lies 40 miles south of St.Vincent, is a paradise of softly rolling hills spread over 113 acres surrounded by two miles of white sand beaches, PSV has been tamed just enough to allow for the presence of 22 discreet and simple, yet luxurious cottages. Lying well off the tourist mainstream, PSV could be best described by what is not there. There is no airport, no formal check in, no keys. There are no televisions nor are there telephones in the cottages.

ACCOMMODATION: Remote and secluded as they may be, these cottages are beautifully appointed. (The resort conforms to the exacting standards of the Leading Hotels of the World). Each cottage is built from native blue bitch stone which is quarried on the island. There are terra cotta floors and peaked ceilings of Purpleheart hardwood. Everything blends beautifully with the island’s terrain. Each of the cottages features a wooden sundeck, a living room, a bedroom, and one or two bathrooms and dressing rooms. The bathrooms have a shower, lots of counter space, robes, fluffy towels and a medley of Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries. The two daybeds in each living room can be made up to accommodate children.

The cottages are sited to make the most of their immediate surroundings. Some are notched into the hills and bluffs to catch the breeze and savor the views, most are just steps from the beach. All the buildings are naturally air-conditioned with a combination of ceiling fans, louvered windows, cool terra cotta floors and the ocean breeze
