Balenbouche Estate is a historic Plantation Guesthouse with tropical cottages, set within 70 acres of unspoiled natural beauty on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. At Balenbouche, you can stroll through exotic gardens and fruit orchards, explore undisturbed ruins, swim at secluded beaches, and enjoy superb dining at the 150 year old Plantation House. The authentic character of this st Lucia hotel, which remains a working plantation, a st Lucia heritage site, and a family residence, has inspired and touched the hearts of many travelers. Balenbouche, or Balembouche, is located on the picturesque south-western coast of st Lucia, 40 minutes from the town of Soufriere, and 30 minutes from the Hewanorra International airport and the town of Vieux Fort, We are a 1 1/2 hours drive away from the capital Castries and 2 hours from Rodney Bay.

The Historic Balenbouche Estate is a family owned St Lucia hotel which remains a working farm, heritage site, and a place of exceptional beauty and tranquility. We offer rooms as well as rental homes in saint lucia, tastefully designed to complement the natural surroundings. Several secluded beaches are just a few minutes walk away. BANYAN COTTAGE: This caribbean villa is only rented as a single unit. It is our largest villa which can sleep up to 6 people. However, the Banyan Cottage is also the perfect romantic escape. The cottage offers 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a secluded veranda with a view of the Balenbouche Banyan Tree, and a living room with an additional sleeping area. The remodeled historic Banyan Cottage incorporates many West Indian architectural elements and has a very open layout. The romantic bathrooms are surrounded by tropical foliage, one with rose-tiled shower and bath, the other with a waterfall style outdoor shower and sink set in beautiful red cedar wood. (2 bedrooms, self-catering, rented as entire villa only). CALABASH COTTAGE: The Calabash Cottage is our smallest rental home, suitable for a single person or younger couple. It has a very nice wooden deck shaded by palm trees and overlooking the gardens. The Calabash Cottage offers a cozy bedroom with Queen sized bed and attached bathroom, and an adjoining dressing/reading corner (large enough for an extra single bed if neccessary), This cottage does not currently offer any self-catering facilities, however, guests staying in the Calabash cottage have access to the kitchen in the nearby Plantation House. (1 bedroom, attached bath). DINING: Our guests have the option of preparing their own meals in the villas (Banyan and Almond villas have self-catering facilities, Frangipani and Calabash have a fridge and hot water kettle), sampling our delicious cuisine, or eating our at one of the nearby local restaurants. All our meals are freshly prepared using local ingredients, and inspired by Creole, Asian and European cuisine.
