BEACHES & ACTIVITIES

• THE BEACHES: Las Galeras, where the hotel is situated, has three exceptionally beautiful beaches with clean, white sand and calm, safe waters protected by coral reefs - Playa Las Galeras, Casa Marina Bay and Playita. The hotel is located right on Playa Las Galeras; the other two are 10 and 20 minute walks away respectively.
  We can help guests organize trips by boat, horse or on foot to other nearby beaches, such as Playa Rincón (rated as one of the world's top ten beaches by Condé Nast Traveller magazine); Playa Madama, a secluded beach with a desert island atmosphere; and Playa Frontón, which has a dramatic backdrop of towering cliffs and is said to be the best location for climbing in the Dominican Republic.
  
  
  
  
• ACTIVITIES: Everyone has a different idea of what makes a good holiday. We want all our guests to enjoy a holiday tailored to their needs and wishes and can help you and your traveling companions plan exactly the right mixture of activities - or inactivity - to suit you. Guests can enjoy fishing, snorkeling, scuba-diving, sailing, wind surfing, horseback-riding, walking along the shore or in the surrounding hills and cycling. The hotel has bicycles, snorkeling and badminton equipment and a beach volleyball net which can be used free of charge. If you have a special interest, such as bird-watching, painting, or photography, we can offer advice about good locations.
  Las Galeras, where the hotel is located, is a small, friendly village with little traffic and a very relaxed pace of life. In the village there are about 10 small restaurants and bars offering Dominican and international food; two discos (out of earshot of the hotel!) playing meringue, salsa and bachata; food and souvenir shops; money-changing facilities; jeep and motorbike rental; a dive and water sports centre; and an office which provides computer, Internet, fax, telephone and postal facilities
